My Life in the bush of ghost

20世紀の大名盤の1枚Brian Eno & David Byrne「My Life in the bush of ghost」がリリースされたのは、1981年だが、本来は1980年発表予定で、後に続く予定のTalking Headsの「Remain In Light」が先に出てた。「My Life〜」はドキュメント的要素を組み込んだサンプリング手法の完成形として有名な作品だが、素材で使用した音源に許可的な問題が発覚しその曲を削除。時間をかけた手直しは完成度を格段に向上した、というのを証明したのが海賊版の「First Edition」である。（一曲は正式には収録なし。）
今まで30年に渡って数百回聴いてきたが、今でも2曲目3曲目にかかる部分を聴く度に、興奮する。リズムや音色に時代的な普遍性があるのは、元の音源のパワー（イスラム歌謡は凄い！！）もあるが、完成度のある作品のみが放つ「品格」がある。同種の感覚は日本のロックのレコードには求めていない。

ジャケットを制作したピーター・サヴィルの渋谷パルコでの展示会で校正刷り（UK盤LP裁断なし数枚）が売りに出されていた。8万円だった。（これはピーターが決めたとは思えず。）
以下はソロアルバム。昨年発表の「Drums Between the Bells」は久々の佳作だった。ポエトリーリーディングのアルバムだった。Enoのレコードは関係作を含めると250枚以上はあると思う。
